SUPINE-
the supine position is one in which people lie on their backs, in almost a completely flat position. They might have a pillow under the head or under some type of the body to promote greater comfort. In many positions, people’s bodies are secured to the table with some form of strap, and strap placement might depend on where the actual surgery will take place. A strap around the waist might be appropriate for chest surgeries, such as many types of heart or neck surgeries. The strap might be placed higher on the body if access is needed to the abdominal cavity, pelvis or legs.

PRONE-
  • When in anatomical position, the hand is prone when the palms are turned backward. Prone position is often required in strength training when lifting with free weights like dumbbells.

  • The reverse Trendelenburg position has the patient in the same flat position but this time the configuration is reversed. This position is typically used for gynecological and abdominal surgery as it works to draw the intestines away from the pelvi
SITTING-
  • He can then stand with his feet roughly shoulder-width apart to help distribute weight evenly. In a sitting position, correct posture is equally important. When sitting, good posture can be maintained by keeping the feet resting flat on the floor and the knees at about the same height as the hips.

  • The spine should be in a neutral position, meaning that the person in lotus position should be sitting up straight but in a natural way, not forcing the spine into a ramrod straight position.
